HURRICANE MARIA - UPDATE
January 10, 2020
During 2019 we have hosted several groups, particularly high schools from the continental United States, who came down to the island on service trips.
We have coordinated for them volunteering opportunities, transportation, kosher meals and accommodations in our own building to make their service trip fulfilling and successful.
There are several more missions, including college groups, scheduled for 2020. Volunteering opportunities included:
Painting houses in the Municipality of Loiza
Roof sealing in the Municipality of Morovis
Forest rehabilitation with the University of Puerto Rico in Camuy
Children activities in communal centers in Loiza
Home repairs through SBP
Soup kitchen work with Methodist Church San Pablo in Barrio Obrero
Religious Services
The JCC of Puerto Rico would like to recognize the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) for its immediate response after Hurricane María, bringing help and relief to many members of our Community, and for its continuous support of our Educational Programs.
