The Jewish Community Center of Puerto Rico ensures a respectful and sacred final resting place for our loved ones, upholding Jewish traditions with the utmost care. Through our dedicated cemetery and Chevra Kadisha, we provide burial services in strict accordance with Jewish law, offering support and guidance to families in their time of need.
About the Cemetery
The JCC of Puerto Rico owns Jewish sections in two main local cemeteries, a space dedicated to honoring life and memory with dignity and respect. Under the guidance of our Spiritual Director, a team of knowledgeable volunteers performs burial services according to Halacha (Jewish law), ensuring that every step of the process is carried out with reverence and compassion.
About the Chevra Kadisha
Our Shaare Zedeck Synagogue is home to a fully staffed Chevra Kadisha, composed of devoted male and female volunteers. This sacred group carries out the Tahara, the traditional purification ritual, with love and the highest respect, preparing the deceased for their final journey. Funeral services are arranged by the Cemetery Committee in partnership with a trusted funeral home, fully equipped to provide services in full compliance with Jewish customs and traditions.
